Don’t Let Tooth Pain Hold You Back
If you're experiencing persistent tooth pain, sensitivity, or swelling, you may have an infection deep inside the tooth. While this can sound intimidating, root canal therapy is a safe, effective way to eliminate pain and save your natural tooth.
At Veenstra Family Dental, we make root canal treatment as gentle and stress-free as possible—using advanced techniques and a calming environment to keep you comfortable every step of the way.
Inside every tooth is a soft tissue called the pulp, which contains nerves and blood vessels. When the pulp becomes inflamed or infected due to decay, trauma, or a cracked tooth, it can cause intense discomfort—and potentially lead to serious complications if left untreated.
A root canal removes the damaged pulp, cleans and disinfects the tooth, and seals it to prevent future infection. The tooth is then restored with a custom crown to protect and strengthen it long-term.
You may benefit from root canal therapy if you’re experiencing:
Early treatment can relieve pain and prevent the need for extraction.
1-Diagnosis & Imaging
We’ll examine the tooth, take digital X-rays, and confirm whether root canal therapy is necessary.
2-Comfort First
The tooth is numbed completely to ensure a pain-free procedure. Many patients say it feels similar to getting a filling.
3-Cleaning & Sealing
We remove the infected pulp, clean the inside of the tooth, and fill it with a safe, biocompatible material.
4-Crown Placement
To protect and restore your tooth, we’ll place a crown—usually in a follow-up visit—crafted to match your smile.
You may experience mild soreness for a day or two, which is easily managed with over-the-counter pain relief. Most patients return to their normal routine the very next day.
Good oral hygiene and regular dental visits are key to long-term success.
Root canal therapy is often the best way to preserve a natural tooth and avoid more complex treatments like extraction and replacement. With proper care, a tooth that has had a root canal can last a lifetime.
If you’re experiencing tooth pain or signs of infection, don’t wait. Early treatment can save your tooth, stop the spread of infection, and restore your comfort quickly.
We’d love to hear your experience and share your smile with others!
